A 16-day Ladakh adventure through the Changthang Plateau, famed for its nomadic culture, turquoise lakes, and Himalayan wildlife. Starting with sightseeing in Delhi and Leh, the trek begins at Hemis Monastery and ends at Tsomoriri Lake. High passes, sweeping landscapes, and remote villages make this an unforgettable cultural and scenic journey.

Hikking

Nine trekking days take you over passes like Kumur La (4,800 m), Shibuk La (4,900 m), and Yalung Nyaulung La (5,450 m). The route passes alpine lakes, nomadic settlements, and wildlife-rich valleys. Walking hours range from 4–8 per day, with rest days at Tsokar and Tsomoriri for exploration. Terrain includes barren plateaus, lush pastures, and rugged high passes.

Travel

Begin in Delhi, fly to Leh, and trek from July to September, the best season for clear skies and stable weather. Warm days and cold nights are expected at altitude. An Indian visa, proper gear, and cultural sensitivity are essential. This trek blends high-altitude adventure with authentic Ladakhi and Tibetan heritage.

Support

The Mountain Company provides all logistics — permits, tents, meals, porters, and guides. Comfortable twin-share tents, dining and toilet facilities are set up daily. The team includes experienced Western and Ladakhi guides, plus medical support with a first aid kit, high-altitude medicine, and a satellite phone for safety.

The Tsomoriri Lake Trek is a 16-day journey in Ladakh’s remote Changthang Plateau, rated moderate. Known as the land of nomads, this route reveals traditional Tibetan-influenced lifestyles, high passes over 5,000 m, and pristine alpine lakes like Tsokar and Tsomoriri.
